Germany was developing more rapidly than its neighbors in the 1930's, and its population was not fanatical Nazis. In fact the Nazi Party never won a majority in a popular election until after opposition parties were banned. Once the Nazis banned opposition parties they routinely won in excess of 98% of the popular vote.

To compare Iran to 1930s Germany is pretty absurd. The economic environment is in no way similar, the nationalistic fervor is completely different and clear cultural differences.

You could similarly compare Iran's more advanced society, population less extreme than ruling parties, religious backed leader and ruling party that lost "popular vote" to George Bush's presidency 2001-2004

It would fit just as much as 1930s Germany
