This is a BS argument. Epps actually had good stretches on offense, defense struggled at times. With Mickey out on the road against Ark, Epps played well.

All it takes is a couple of possessions to send a message, we had guys capable of playing 2-3 possessions. Not to mention the fact that it helps build depth.

The 'we didn't have anybody else' is a lazy excuse. If you truly didn't have anybody else, then hold them accountable in practice, either way, DO SOMETHING.

No, what is lazy is not realizing that you had other people, but it was suicide to take out Mickey and Martin at the same time to "prove a point." Go back and watch the LSU/Alabama game and tell me that it was a good idea to lift Mickey and Martin after Bama switched to the 1-3-1 and generated all of those turnovers.

Game Recap

Also, re: Epps, he had some good offense, but the guy killed our zone defense (which we had to play when he was in because he wasn't strong enough to play man at the 4). I have never seen a worse zone defender at LSU than Epps. Dude needs to get his head in the game.

This year, barring injury, we should have actual depth. If we still play starters 40+ minutes in games then we can talk about some things, but he basically had to play some guys long minutes. If you had Martin and Mickey out at any given point last year, we wouldn't be able to get a single rebound. Our offense would become a three point shooting barage.

Coach has sat players before. Two years ago he sat JOB for 11 straight minutes because he was settling for mid range jumpers. He will do similar this season if he feels like he has backups that are prepared to play.
