I've taken my son and nephew there a few times since it opened a few years ago and have caught fish each time.
Bring some fresh shrimp or live shrimp and you can catch sheepshead and flounder around the pilings. Bring a pier net so you can bring them up.
You can put out a few crab nets to run too.
All depends on tide and season as to whether you will catch specks and reds; i've seen a couple reds caught there, but haven't caught anything myself.
I wouldn't go there in the hopes of filling a cooler, but it's a nice place to bring the kids.
