So Bozeman may be a little better option, I assume it has more stuff to do and see

Not sure about that. Missoula has stuff to do, arguably a better drinking and arts town.
Bozeman, scenically, feels more like you probably want Montana to feel, however.

I'm heading into Bozeman the 16th. Looking at a piece of dirt south of there in West Yellowstone. I'd live there tomorrow if I could afford too leave today.

There is a lot of fun stuff to do there and they have some breweries as well. Plus you are close to both Yellowstone and Big Sky, which you should definitely see if you're up there. Hylite Canyon is right outside of town as well, which should offer some great hikes if that's your thing.
