For medical purposes.

Quite a sea change I would say for Louisiana for its flagship university to start growing pot.

It's sad what's happening to our once wholesome, God fearing state.

I went to Ole Miss and they have a massive marijuana field on campus. They burned it all down every once in a while and you could smell it faintly in the air in the apartments next door.

The security on that thing was nuts.

Louisiana, because of New Orleans alone, would see a huge economic burst with legalization.

Someone was growing it in the back of some of the LSU Ag sugarcane fields back in the late 90's, and not just 1 or 2 plants.

LSU Ag Center Likely To Start Cultivating Marijuana

The Louisiana Legislature passed a bill approving the cultivation of medical marijuana during its recent session, giving the LSU and Southern University AgCenters the right of first refusal to grow it. Gov. Bobby Jindal is set to sign the bill as soon as Monday afternoon.

While medical marijuana has been legal for decades in Louisiana through a doctor’s prescription, there was no mechanism allowing for legal dispensing. The approved marijuana will only come in the form of a pill or oils.
