Well, I now realize that for some reason, texts are still going through to the old iphone. I even took the SIM card out of it, and it still happens. I'll text someone from the new phone, and their response will go to the iphone.
I don't remember how so you'll need to google it but my wife's phone was good to go within about 6 hours of whatever it was we did.

2) I started downloading some of the old apps I had on the iphone. Basic, popular apps, like scorecenter, shazam, facebook, uber, etc. Every app I try to download it has a laundry list of pretty appaling things I have to give it access to. If they want to see my name and email, ok fine whatever. But some of the things listed were things like:
-can make purchases on your behalf
-can adjust your phone settings and controls
-access to your texts, call history, photos, address book, etc
-can access the microphone and record at any time
I mean what the frick? Is this a new thing or something? I don't ever remember apps saying stuff like that before.
This is called transparency.
