I say that he is a sick frick because a normal, mentally healthy person would not do this. In no way do I think he should try to plead insanity.

He is definitely a mentally ill person. He was absolutely motivated to kill those people because they were black. I don't think that the people here who are saying that he is mentally ill are using is as an excuse for what he did. Mentally stable people don't shoot up churches. It's hard for a normal person to try to comprehend how someone could do what he did. Normal people just don't do that shite.

I am disgusted by it. It breaks my heart that those people died because that kid hated black people. I hope he gets arse raped in prison by the biggest, blackest dude in prison everyday for the rest of his pitiful life.

We've got to reach some sensible middle here.

It's possible that he's a sane dude who just really hated black people so much he slaughtered some nice old ladies. But probably not.

More likely, he is a fricked up kid who happens to have adopted racism as his life's cause (not surprising that a fricked up person would adopt a fricked up cause) and rather than posting racist comments on you tube like most racists, he gunned down a church congregation.

We'd say the same thing for a black guy who shot up a church or some other organization in a mass killing. It's not normal. It's not even normal hateful behavior.

I understand black people get miffed when they're considered culturally problematic in their criminal activity, but white mass shooters are mentally ill. I guess I understand that. But we're not saying that white guys who kill their girlfriends are always mentally ill, just like we're not saying that black guys who shoot store clerks for 20 bucks are mentally ill (although both might be, and both are probably idiots).

Mass murder probably has a high correlation with mental defect. Sensible people can acknowledge that there are still racial issues in the country without pretending that this kid is not an abnormality and is simply a run of the mill white person who is racist.
