It takes a balance remember 2011 and 2012 the first couple years of the new bats, we sucked at hitting and it cost us a lot of games. WE had good guys pitching but many times a guy would throw a gem of a game but would still lose because we couldn't put up any runs.

Offense has come back to Omaha this year, I think there is a good balance. We have a young bullpen which is what cost us this year. If you are so concerned about our pitching just look at what we will have next year

Friday Lange
Saturday Poche
Sunday Latz/McKay
Weekday Norman/Godfrey/Bain

Pen
McKay/Latz
Godfrey
Bain
Norman
Newman
Reynolds
Stallings
Bugg

I may be missing a couple freshman arms. But LSU will be stacked in the pen next year. We had one guy who got significant innings who was a senior this year, no Juniors. If we make it to Omaha next year it will be because of our pitching.

You're right on all points. We should be stacked at pitching next year. That was one of the points I was trying to emphasize, that last year we finally brought in a great group of pitchers. Hopefully we'll keep it up.

Your optimism for next year, though, doesn't make allowances for injuries. Latz, for example, is worrisome. Other injuries will come up. And further to another one of the points you made, it does take balance, and will we have adequate hitting next year?
