Lebron did this to himself.

When Lebron left Cleveland to assemble and play with an all star team, he made the distinction that he was focused on ONE THING. Winning NBA titles as soon as possible and as many as possible. Not building the Cavs into a contender like Jordan did with the Bulls and Stockton and Malone did with the Jazz.
Now, several years later, everyone wants to create metrics and look at statistics to decide if he is the best player in history. That isn't necessary at this point.
I choose to evaluate him on the one statistic that matters to Lebron.
Winning NBA titles.
He has two.
That means he is currently "half way" to the goal of surpassing Will Purdue and Kurt Rambis (Who both have four rings).
Good Luck Lebron.
I am rooting for you.

Yup, when do the excuses end? If you have to make excuses for 1 or 2 players then don't keep trying to build this big 3.

The snide comments about Purdue and Rambis, as well as the part about judging him only on titles is just fricking stupid. But I agree with everything else.

Jordan built the Bulls? Now he's getting credit for stuff he didn't even do.

but he beat an mvp in the playoffs on the road to the finals.

Malone, Stockton, and Jordan were GM's? They made hiring and contract decisions? Wow. Who knew.

How much longer does he have in his career? 7 years or so? Starting to look forward to that at this point due to this shite, which is kind of unfortunate since he's an all time great.

Id like to point out that the Cavs are the definition of a contender, and that you are stupid.

I think your overall point is spot on and it's essentially what I have been saying.
The dude has nothing to be ashamed of regarding the 2015 NBA Finals. He busted his arse and never once quit despite being outmatched. He played like an all-time great. But I agree with you that he left Cleveland the first time to win championships, then lost in the Finals vs Dallas and acted like it was no big deal. He has done much better since then, but you are right that the narrative changes based on the circumstances with him. He said that he just wanted to win championships and that nothing else matters. Then after winning ONE he started with the talk about wanting to be the best ever, and that is something every player should want but saying it is a different story. Now, he's back to saying he's the best player in the world and stuff like that. I think he's a smart guy but some of this stuff he brings on himself.

Creating metrics and looking at statistics? You mean these numbers that are able to quantify someone's contribution to the game? I'm forgot that the "Eyeball Test" and using one's own individual opinions on a player's "intangibles" and "killer instinct" were the accepted method of judging performance.
I'm not even sure if you understand why Lebron is in Cleveland to begin with. He brought in players to build a contender. He went back and took the third worst supporting cast in Finals history to Game 6. So, when his plan to build a contender failed, he just made them a contender on his own. Regardless, the Cavs were very much a contender, and it was 100% because of Lebron.
I genuinely think that a lot of you truly believe that by admitting that Lebron is a great player and had a great series, it somehow invalidates your commitment to some other player who you idolize. Every argument is the same bullshite about rings, and yet, when Lebron goes after rings he's a bitch for "wanting to win rings now". He goes back to Cleveland, he's still a choke artist for not winning regardless of his cast. It's impossible for him to come out on top outside of literally winning every game.
I'm glad the Finals are over so this can all blow over. I'm not even a Cavs fan, and I honestly don't give two shits that Golden State won the title. I just don't understand how people can be so ridiculously against an athlete in every way. The fact that some of you are out in the world operating heavy machinery and driving cars terrifies me.

Lebron showed why he is the best player in the game in this series and he did more with this squad than possibly anyone else could have.
But I agree with the overall point. He has no one to blame but himself for the position he's put himself into by trying to form these superteams that have little to no depth.
Look at the Warriors - Klay Thompson, their second best player, sucked arse for most of the series and Draymond Green was pretty bad in several games and their starter Bogut got benched. The Warriors still had a championship caliber team after all that.

Lebron injured Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving... got it.

Lebron put himself in this situation by trying to team with 2 other superstars, and when you do that you deplete the rest of your roster due to the salary cap restraints.
I think he'd be better suited playing with one other superstar and the rest of the money getting better role players.
I'm just not buying into ESPN narrative of Bron needs more help year after year when he puts himself in that situation knowing the consequences.
