My 63 yr old dad and I poured the slab for my shop our selves. One buggy ($100) and we moved 4 yards into the forms in less than an hour. I realize you have more concrete, but rent two buggies and get a buddy to come over and drive the other one.

No need to, normally the delivery driver will run the buggy. Really if you running it on a driveway 1 buggy will do it.

Also you don't need a 6" slab for a shop, thats overkill. Unless he tearing down and rebuilding bulldozers but IDT he'll be doing that in 24x20 shop. A simple woodworking shadetree mechanic shop..... 4" is more than enough.
