1) Vandy loses to Cal St.

Vandy is the best team in this side of the bracket. Best chance at beating them is if they face Lange.

2) TCU loses to Cal St.

TCU has the deepest pitching in the whole tournament. Facing them once is better than having to face them twice. And Cal St. only has only Eshelman, who we would have to face, but if we get passed him, our chances are much better in game 2.

Agree

Not sure about that. If TCU beat Fullerton, we would have to play them Thursday. No way Eshelman goes Thursday, right?. I would think we want to face TCU to get into the Champ series.

It's a daunting task no matter how you look at it. We'll have to beat every team in this bracket at least once, but I really hope we get the chance to knock out Vandy tomorrow with Lange, it all starts there.

As for Fullerton/TCU, it's either Eshelman or 2 games against TCU's staff, likely with Morrison back. Tough choice, but I agree I'd rather take my chances with Eshelman. Hopefully Lange and Bain will come up big to get us there.

No question if we can get to Fullerton to win the bracket, it's our best option.

The MLB draft would disagree with this statement.

Doesn't matter who LSU faces tomorrow; if they can't win one game with Lange on the mound, this whole season was a mirage.

Seems TD Ameritrade Park is where Tigers' dreams go to die. God, do I miss Rosenblatt.

This is the only questionable part.

Eshelman is a stud. If TCU is the team we have to beat twice, they'll throw the guy we've already seen on Saturday. That could be somewhat of an advantage for us?

Agree...and you only have to beat them once vs. having to beat them without Lange and then again.

Agree again.

Agreed, best cast scenario is to have LSU only needing to beat Vanderbilt once with TCU losing to CSF and LSU only needing to beat TCU once.

By that time LSU can take a deep breath regroup and focus on one team in CSF both Friday and Saturday.

Don't get me wrong a daunting task but both Oregon St '06 and South Carolina '10 have won it all after dropping the opener.

With this being said Chinea, Hale, Laird, and Scivique must wake up with the bats or we're just talking game for no reason.

How big of an advantage is it for us that the Vandy/CSF game was suspended? They both have to use an extra pitcher, yes?

Easier said than done considering our hitters seem to make a concerted effort to hack away at the first pitch and avoid working the count or making the pitcher work for it.

Eshelman could feasibly pitch into the 12th with the way we work pitch counts.

If they are the best team in the bracket (i.e. better than TCU), we aren't beating them no matter who is on the mound.

So TCU is, in theory, the third best team in the bracket, and that is somehow supposed to be a good scenario for us?

The only scenario in which we win even one game before going home is if Vandy and Fullerton are both on or below our level (i.e. WAY below TCU).

The best case scenario is that we win the next four, then two of the following three.
