It's a standard and has 60k miles. Anyone has this model? Would you recommend someone buying it?

Things you need to consider

How do you plan to use it and how did they: Daily driver, weekend cruiser, or camp vehicle?

Stock or modified?

Price?

ETA - if it has the 3.7L V6 they aren't impressive

Avoid jeep. Too small and wheel base is too short. There are far better vehicles out there. Last time I owned a jeep the power cord extender got tangled up underneath the clutch and made my brakes go out

That is a good year for the TJ. The 0331 cylinder head fiasco was corrected in the 4.0. The manual trans has been good in all years. If it has the four banger then at least it will have 4.10's.

Good reliable platform. Easy to work on. Fun to drive.

Hot as balls in the summer. Cold in the winter. It will leak.

I have an '04 that I love. It was $15k three years ago but it has the 4.0. 5 speed. They're reliable. You may have some minor problems but not likely with that low mileage. Mine had 32k on it when I bought it. 20k later and all I've had to do is change the oil and put new tires on it. They're great little fun vehicles. If you're not going to mod it up the 2.5L will be fine. Put some decent all terrains on it for the farm and have fun.

The top won't leak if it is installed correctly. I put a frameless soft top on mine last year. Much easier to put on and off and doubles as a safari/bikini top. I also have a hardtop for the winter but mine is a daily driver. Wouldn't really care about one if I only had it as an extra.

I'd definitely pass on the 4 cylinder. The 4.0 was one of the best, most reliable, torquey (not a word) 6 cylinders ever. Keep looking for one.

After you buy one, figure out where you'll park it at your house and put a large pan under the engine (where it mates with the tranny) unless you don't mind an oil spot on your driveway. They all eventually leak oil (just a drip)

if you will leave it at the camp, the 4 will be fine. if you plan to drive it much, you will not enjoy the 4 at all on the road. Check out the Jeep place off of I-10 on the North Shore.

I bought a new 1997 wrangler with the 2.5L quickly grew to hate it, and sold it in 2000, to get a used 2000 wrangler with the 4.0 which I still have, 115K miles no issues. I would avoid the 4 banger at all cost.
