I think it's more that ULL fans get mad when we don't say the name correctly. To me, I don't give a damn what they want to be called, but I have friends from ULL that get their panties in a knot when I say ULL. And when they do it is beyond hilarious to see them react the way they do. Consequently, I continue to give them hell about the name for my pure entertainment.

What's impressive is that they get mad when you use the actual name of the university. It's like they live in an alternate reality.
They think ULM is beneath them.
No one outside of Lafayette or Monroe give a rat's arse about either school.

My son, who went to ULL for a year before transferring to LSU, will NOT say UL ... it IS ULL and he sticks to that. lol He's strong willed.

What gives them more of a right to be called "Univ of La" than does UL-Monroe? UL-M should start putting "LOUISIANA" on the front of their athletic team jerseys too just to tick off all the little "USL" darlings.
And it doesn't really matter what the official school name is. They'll always be the "University of Southwestern Louisiana."
