This guy will literally take any head coaching job he can get. Now he might end up with Anthony Davis

Which probably says he doesn't think he's a Pels lock. This is still Loomis' decision and all the rumors have said that that part of the FO likes JVG. It'd have to be a hell of a sales pitch with a hell of an assistant staff, or perhaps JVG would have to totally whiff on the staff for Gentry to get Loomis' approval too. Loomis fired Monty because he knew he wasn't good enough. I'm sure he's as aware of Gentry's record and lack of success as Fun Bunch is.

Anyone who's had to recommend multiple options to a supervisor knows that if your supervisor is choosing between results and making your life easier, results usually win out, no matter how hard you sell easy.

I'll just throw this out there, you can take it or laugh at it

Maybe JVG isn't interviewing for Head Coach, but for a front office position. Loomis could be the one interviewing him to replace Dell, while Gentry becomes the coach

This all day long. I will say for a fact that someone above Demps really, really likes the idea of hiring JVG. That doesn't mean that it will work out that way. We can't say for sure how the JVG interview(s) will go or what he may demand.
