After a disappointing 3-4 road trip (remember when that was a good road trip?), YFPHA return home to face the White Sox who have lost 7 of 10 and played a double header in Baltimore yesterday. In a matchup of rookie pitchers, Lance "Bruce Wayne" McCullers (1-0, 2.53) faces off against Carlos "Not Brady Aiken" Rodon (1-0, 4.03). Rodon ascended to the bigs quickly after the 2014 draft where he was selected 3rd overall.

Down on the farm yesterday, Mark Appel went 5.2 innings and gave up 3 runs (all ER) with 3 walks and 4 Ks for Corpus.

Should be a fun pitching matchup

I am much more interested in Velasquez and Feliz at this point than Appel sadly

Not saying this is happening, but have any of you guys stopped to think perhaps they told him to throw certain pitches to develop them?

Again not saying that he doesn't suck, just attempting to provide a prospective that maybe they have him working on something and not caring if his minor league stats are awesome.

I had high hopes for Appel to get it together and be a solid middle of the rotation guy at least. Outside of about 1 good month though, he really hasn't been very good.

ETA: I still haven't given up on him completely, but if he is used as a piece of a trade I won't be as upset as I would have been before.

Is Dansby for sure going #1?

% chance he falls to us at 2?

From what I've read a lot of people have him going number one. I really want him. I hope we aren't dead set in the getting two bats thing. We aren't stacked with pitching depth and I remain a big fan of Fulmer

I think they will take one of either Swanson or Bregman, would say Rodgers but I think they want a more experience college guy that they can kind of fast track. Just from a few things I've read that's the feeling I get, who knows though, baseball is so hard to predict.

As far as pitchers go, I like Tate, but he scares me since this is his first season as a starter.

I'd be very happy with Fulmer and one of the short stops

Do y'all think Bregman can stay at short or should he be moved to 2B?That seemed to be the biggest question about him when I've read up on him. I've only see him play against us and loved him as a player but most of y'all have seen him play much more than me.

My concern would be if he can't stick at short then where does he fit for the Astros? I would hope they've discussed with Correa the a possibility of moving to 3B already but a Bregman/Correa left side for the next 10+ years sounds great to me

I don't see why not but Altuve just turned 25. If they are dead set on bregman i'd imagine CC or him to be moved to 3rd.

I personally can see him staying at SS. I know there have been scouts who say the move to 2B is inevitable, but I disagree. The only knock on him I see at SS is he is kind of short, but there have been plenty of great short SS in the bigs.

He wasn't great as a SS his freshman year, he was new to the position and was even drafted out of HS as a catcher. Since then he has shown the range and arm to stick at short IMO. His first step is so damn quick.

A Fulmer/Bregman combo would make me pretty damn excited even though I love Swanson. If they are going with one of the HS bats I like Preston's brother a lot
