If a Republican wins the White House in 2016 and they send ground troops back into Iraq and Afghanistan for direct combat action, would you go back? Why?
I would. For the sheer fact that ISIS needs an arse kicking.

I'm getting too old for this shite now haha. I've deployed 9 times since 2006 (4-5 months at a time) and I'd love for nothing more than to destroy every one of them… But I have 1,100 days overseas and I'm ok with passing the torch.

Yeah, I get that.
Only got 2. I thought that'd be enough but seeing that BS happen everyday on the news pisses me off.
Then again, my kid is only getting older and I don't want to miss more family time.

I'm still in so I would probably end up going depending on the long term situation on the ground.
But if I was out, frick no! Ain't no need to tempt fate.

I am getting out in July..Promised my wife and kids that if I ever got out of the military, I would not go back as a contractor.
For the record,I have about two years of time over there!

No.
I was single back then with little to loose.
I was deployed twice and even went off the grid on certain missions and objectives.
There is a bunch of stuff I can't talk about and stuff we did that I have nightmares still to this day from. stuff now that I have ptsd from. I refuse to get diagnosed because it makes people think you are gonna go crazy and do evil stuff even though that has nothing to do with ptsd or how it works
I would want nothing to do with that lifestyle again.
It did get me my current job which I am grateful for though
