Because you act like Tiger Stadium is alone in being old. It isn't. It's actually very well maintained compared to many of it's brethren. And it is almost invariably better designed than the vast majority of stadiums not only in the SEC, but around the country.

No exaggerated sideline curves to the stands or upper decks. Plenty of exits, plenty of restrooms and concessions. The new addition is even better in this regard.

If you traveled to a lot of the other stadiums, you'd know this.

LSU screwed the pooch on having bleachers instead of chairbacks and not having a berm IMHO. Because of that, Arky and Carolina are both #1 and #2

USCe's softball stadium isn't any nicer than Tiger Park.

Baum
Carolina
Alex Box

If we are just looking at stadiums... that's the order. Baum and Carolina are very, very close. The box is nice but it's missing things the others have.

I give it a slight edge because it has more suites and more chair back seating...

...in any case, the new Aggie softball stadium will eclipse both...

I agree that the new addition is better in this, but there are many parts of TS with very poor restroom situations and concession areas.

Not leaving much room for expansion are they?

Baum is definitely nicer than the Box.

Also, I'm not sure why Carolina's softball stadium is nicer. I would have Arkansas' softball park a little nicer too to be honest.

If there really is one thing I tip my cap to Arkansas for, it's their ability to build elite facilities. all of their facilities are outstanding

I love the box, but I'm not a big fan of the bullpen locations.

A friend of mine was apart of Brasfield and Gorrie who did the recent seating expansion at Tiger Stadium. The stadium needs to be expanded again but then I realized that the other side is block by the Maravich Center

They could just close that road.

I actually kind of like the bullpen locations. They feel too removed if they are hidden behind the outfield wall or something similar.

And this is personal opinion, but too many new stadiums (Baum included here) lack an architectural panache. I feel as if the clean lines, the curved outfield wall, the single level seating, and the all-built-at-the-same-time look just leave something out. A ballpark should look a little like it has grown over the years, not some Frankenstein building, but something with a little character. I'm not a fan of berms, there, I said it, but to me they look a little too lowbrow. Again just a personal opinion. Newer with newer features isn't always better: a Prius is newer and packed with more advanced features, but I'll take a 60's DB5 over it in a heartbeat.

At any rate, the Box is a great place to watch a game and I hope to see it continue to improve in the years to come.

Actually there have already been some feasibility studies done of putting box suites only on the NEZ, above the existing seats, with support structures not impeding any of the ground level areas.
If they end up doing that, it would increase capacity of Tiger Stadium to anywhwere between 103,000 and 105,800.

The trees will die during a drought. How's it going to look then?

If the soccer "stadium" is #3 the rest of the SEC is really rough

. Incorrect. The pmac is still a pretty darned good facility. I've not seen all the other schools ball arenas but I know the pmac is head and shoulders above the o'connel center.
