Girl I worked with had a big dog, it weighed maybe 70lbs. I forget the breed. Several years ago she had him neutered. She always said she felt terrible that his nuts were taken off. So she brought him to a vet and had artificial nuts surgically attached to him. She said her dog was much happier now with his fake nuts.

Another coworker had some lap/toy dog. Said her dog refused to drink any water unless it was cold. Either cold bottle water or ice water. Dog always refused to drink room temperature water.

Bring them on airplanes, in restaurants, grocery stores and every other place dogs don't belong. And I don't mean service dogs, I mean "emotional support dogs."

My sister in law bought my dog little puppy socks for Christmas for her paws. She knew the animal would hate them, but thought it was funny, so now, whenever my dog is being really bad, instead of just swatting her, I put her in her "punishment socks" and she hates life until she can either get them off or I take them off of her.

I mean, I'm not going to lie. There are times I'm like, "oh yea, you're a dog"

my dog is like my child/buddy, but I don't take him everywhere with me

My neighbors dog has socks and little tennis shoes, and different outfits every morning I see them out walking.

Neuticles - google them

I hear so much weird stuff all the time I really have to think hard about individual examples as most of it doesn't even phase me anymore. Most examples have to do with people humanizing their pets.

Dog friendly restaurants are loaded with hot chicks. I love bringing my dog to chill on a patio while I drink some beer.

I crate trained my dog, disciplined with nose slaps, feed him dog food, lock him out of certain rooms of the house while we’re gone, don’t feed him at the table, etc.

However, he is a member of our family. He is 75 lbs., stays in the house during the day (living room), and sleeps in our king bed at night. He eats higher end dog food with wild salmon oil added to it. He goes on every road trip with us. We love to bring him to dog friendly restaurants and bars. He runs errands with me (usually chills in the car).

I’m not sure I treat him like a human or just a really loved dog. Either way, that guy is my main man. Him waiting for me at home with his tail wagging can make me forget a shitty day at work instantly. He has complex emotions and is very human like as well. He knows when I feel like shite, he knows when I am tired, etc. and changes his behavior to comfort me. Its pretty crazy.

ETA:

He loves some fricking toilet water though and is hardly a picky eater . Dude eats anything. Also, I have never and will never clothe him. He has a fur coat and padded feet. That shite is stupid.

It's kinda hard not to. Mine behaves so much like a small child that it's hard not to treat her like one. She even elicits sarcasm, sass, guilt, revenge, and a whole host of other complex emotions. She'll even mock people on purpose. It's hard not to see her like a child when she spends all day acting like one.
