What did I just watch.

Was expecting to see redfish schooling to the surface.

Glad y'all got on some fish, but nothing I could see in the video showed a red tide. At least compared to other videos I've seen.

This is what I was expecting to see when I clicked

Here let me help you out

I've seen it once in real life. Wasn't quite as big as the one above but was still a jaw dropping experience.

Dang, the OB is on edge tonight. I've also heard this referred to as a red tide. Would love to witness one some day.

What I like about the video is that, even from that distance, you can see the wave being pushed up by the reds. Many many years ago as a young lad, I had the thrill of helping an old fisherman run a trammel net around a school of reds like the one in the video. He keyed on that wave they were pushing up to know where to circle his net. I'm glad those days are over but it was a blast watching it happen. Nothing but arse busting work followed, but the experience was worth it. I don't care about the OP calling it a red tide. He was just sharing something very special and I'm sure he didn't expect to get crucified by the aqua Nazis. Much better video than a true red tide.

I've seen it twice. One time was last week. It would t take 5-10 seconds for my reel to start screaming. It was fun catching them brutes on light tackle. Catch and release until we got tired.

I've experienced two giant schools of redfish (I'm not touching the red tide debate). Once about 10 years a couple hundred yards off of Elmer's island. I remember thinking if I fell in I might be torn apart by redfish.

The second time was a few years ago while talking a walk down the Gulf State Park Pier. I got a few videos (warning, they are horrible).

Seen it twice. Wish I'd have had more than three rods rigged up.

Pulled these 2 out of a redtide a few weeks ago off the coast of Last Isle. School was easily 1000+ redfish all which were this size. Saw some big jacks in there as well. This thread is pathetic.
