For me, the experience of seeing Titanic in theaters when I was a kid was really cool. Seeing the titanic on the ocean at night really blended in with the rest of the dark theater so you felt like you were out there witnessing it all.

I never saw Jurassic Park in theaters but i heard that was a fun experience too.

So what's the best movie to watch in a dark theater with surround sound that really makes you feel like you're in the movie?

Avatar was a very average movie but it was a great theater experience.

Jurassic Park was amazing in the theater. Saw it at age 12 and was hooked immediately. It's still the best movie theater experience I've had.

If I could pick I would go with Blade Runner.

300 and Django Unchained were best theater experiences I've had in the past 7-8 years.

GWTW. That scene of downtown Atlanta burning down was awesome.

ROTK was right up there as well.

Star Wars

Best theater experiences for me. I only saw the Star Wars special edition in 1997, not the original version though. It was still awesome.

The Empire Strikes Back is much better on a big screen, especially the flying over the glacier scenes. The original Star Wars too, obviously.

Django Unchained is one of the few I've seen in the theater over the last few years. Being in a theater helped Django more than I would have guessed.

I loved Top Gun in the theater as a kid. The sound of those jets! I still jack up the sound of that movie on my sound bar.
