Damn, this actually could have been an interesting subject to pass a Saturday at work.... And once again it's devolved into whatever this is.

But I've noticed most of the people bitching about this subject are either military wives or reservists who love getting pissed off at "civilians". Military personnel shouldn't be above criticism, in fact the majority of military people are kinda shitty and deserve the criticism (not all but enough of a majority so it's justified).

Right. And we need to be fair. Just like people get pissed about the outspoken teachers...people can get pissed about the outspoken servicemen/veterans.

Obviously those people give their respective groups a bad rap, but they don't necessarily represent their groups. Although they do because they choose to be outspoken. Of course the ones I know are great people.

You can't judge a large group of people over a couple vets acting like pussies. But to answer the op, no. It's not any different then it has always been. Some vets have that fake outrage over stuff like that.
