will it affect your opinion?

nope. they would be forced to at this poitn. its too late. the damage is already done, i don't believe shite they say anymore. I wonder how much of their protectiveness over the years was more bc of josh doings and not their religion.... i don't care, their credibility is shot.

I scanned the police report last night. It's about 30 pages. Feel so sorry for the girls. At least one child talked about being spanked and there was a rod involved, but not bruising or injuries. I guess the spanking was way back when because I think I've read something about the discipline they invoke as not including spanking.

Any way you look at it, it's a sad story. I can understand the family not wanting to throw the boy away to the cops. There was a discussion about sending him somewhere at first, but they were advised by the elders, I believe, that the place would include some unsavory kids to whom the boy shouldn't be exposed as it might create other problems. Something along those lines.

What surprised me was there was no mention of getting him or the girls real counseling. Sounds like they just prayed, which is fine, but not by itself, I don't believe.

This sort of thing can and has happened in plenty of families. I wouldn't throw darts at this family for it. I'm not sure what I would do as far as going to the police, but I'm sure I would get counseling for everyone involved and if that resulted in legal trouble for the boy, so be it, I suppose. The problem is that when he gets into legal trouble, the girls are brought into unless there's a plea. I wouldn't want my daughters to have to deal with any of this any more than was necessary to ensure they're mental and emotional states were good.

They way you sound is you were looking for a reason to throw in the towel...

Chad504boy
How would you have handled the situation before being famous with your own children if this would have happened and then if given the opportunity to be in the spotlight on a show would you have announced this first or thought to yourself this ain't none of anyone's business because it was personal or a family matter and was already handled? I'm asking you personally now..I threw it out there earlier and only 2 have said something..but I'm asking you if you and your family were in this situation what would you do..plain and simple..
