You see Brando giving up his TV gig to opt for sitting in the Alex Box press box calling an LSU-Nicholls St midweek game? Obviously there are more glorious elements to the LSU job but this would seem to be a major career step backward for Brando that I don't see happening.

I guess it would depend upon what he wanted. Right now he has a radio show on satelite radio that he could probably keep doing if he was at LSU. He's on Fox Sports, which no one really watches.

I could see it being a step down in some eyes, but it also could be a nice way to round out his career. If he's not interested, though, I would totally get it.

I just hope it's not some random person.

How the hell is Hannagriff the obvious choice? Sure, he is a good radio show host and a decent baseball announcer, but what aspect of his voice and delivery makes you think he would translate well to basketball and football?

I have actually remarked to others that his voice and delivery seem much improved this baseball season, including, actually showing emotion.

His radio show just ended a couple of weeks ago, because he's too busy with Fox. He's going to be covering the US Open for Fox...I guess no one watches that. He ain't moving from Shreveport to BR at this stage in his life.

Why would he need to retire? He can be just as effective doing the play by play

Jeff Boggs! I think that's his name he comes on 100.3 the game plan sometimes, older fella I reckon but he seems knowledgeable and has a great radio voice.…

Great announcer...not a fan of the voice though...I'd have to mute it after the first quarter.

They should eliminate the finalist and pick a winner American Idol style. I'd vote

Start off by eliminating everyone affiliated with the football postgame shows.

Attempting a poor imitation of Skip Bertman automatically disqualifies you!

his "call strike 3" is painful to hear. this is possibly the worse choice LSU could make.

Dave Neal. Knows LSU and the conference. Would be a home run.

Rollins- Always sounds like he is trying to hard and speaks with a nasal drip

Hannagriff- Always sounds like he has a stuffed up nose and is reading Moby Dick without any enthusiasm
