LSU's Les Miles conflicted over quarterbacks

He continues to crave separation between struggling starter Anthony Jennings and raw talent Brandon Harris, but he does not seem confident that will happen.
"I would like to have a starter. I would like to have THE guy," Miles said as all the SEC West
coaches participated in the teleconference. "I could also see a time where you have a necessity to play them both."
also:
SUPPORT FOR CHAVIS: LSU athletic director Joe Alleva is heavily involved with a lawsuit against former LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis over a $400,000 buyout he may owe LSU as well as suits by Chavis against LSU that say his contract was illegally tampered with and he was not paid correctly.
But Miles had nothing but good things to say on the teleconference Tuesday about Chavis, who worked for Miles at LSU from 2009 through 2014, usually fielding some of the best defenses in the nation. Chavis left LSU for a higher salary at Texas A&M after the 2014 season.
"Certainly, John is a very fine defensive coordinator and a quality person," Miles said. "I have no issues there."

You can tell Les wants Harris to earn the job so bad. Step your game up Brandon!

So how is he "conflicted"?

We are literally a good QB away from a championship. Please make this happen.

Just go with the two QB system and play the hot hand. Or in this case, keep the cold hand out.

I think Miles is literally dying for BH to step up and take the job.

Miles is often conflicted about what day of the week it is. AJ starts all season. Book it. We run the ball 80% of all plays.

When words like "certainly" and "quality" are used, Les is usually BSing

If the two quarterbacks are even then I'd rather start the guy who is a year younger and has less experience. Jennings had a year to show what he had. Let's move on

NOTES: Miles again praised freshman wide receiver D.J. Chark of Alexandria Senior High on the SEC spring teleconference as he did throughout spring drills. "D.J. was very strong all spring," he said. … Miles also said offensive lineman K.J. Malone of Cedar Creek High in Ruston had "a big spring."
Eat shite stargazers.

It's May so I'm not worried. I believe whoever plays the best will start. BH looked great against lesser quality competition but stunk it up at Auburn. Clearly he wasn't ready and he has admitted not being ready.
I do agree, we are good quarterback play away from championship level football. If we get great QB play we are unstoppable.

This alone tells me we are screwed.
In other words ... the same shite-show situation we witnessed last season ... still exists.
Typical par for the course with CLM.

I heard Rabalais offer up the most ridiculous explanation re: the QB's after listening to the conference call.
AJ10 starts because he's the most consistent. Harris has shown it in practice but he's got to show it in games. Yet he doesn't get in for game action because of how Les Miles refuses to play backups until extremely late, and by that time, the base offense is out and clock-burn calls are in. Which prevents Harris from showing it in games.
It's a ridiculous explanation because using that system, no QB at LSU will ever overtake another. Makes zero sense if you truly want to have a QB competition.

If Les would go back and compare Jennings stats with Harris stats in 2014 the conflict would be over.
Les needs to get on the computer and type Anthony Jennings stats. Right there should be a red flag... He threw for 1611 (mostly big plays in each game 92, 80, 42, 41x2, 40...) yards and 48.9% Completion (don't forget the 22 sacks). Did he have a rushing game? At least Jefferson could run. Also, one last stat 11 Touchdowns and 7 Ints.
So, now go back and look at Brandon Harris's stats and compare to Jennings. Let’s not forget he's a True Freshman. He threw for 452 and 55.6% completion rate (played in only 5 games and most were after halftime). Clearly the argument is that he was competing vs. worse competition. Not many players can say they stepped on the field as a true freshman in the SEC. This shows me that he has the talent to compete and he needs to show Les that he's the right guy for the job sooner rather than later (learn the playbook, study film, improve technique, and improve check downs...). Also, this guy can run and I think it's time to let him loose.
This year can be very special with all the talent we have on the offensive side of the ball. Whatever Qb starts Jennings or Harris; let them loose. We can't keep running the ball first and second down to compete in the SEC (teams stack the box). It's time to let it fly and see how special these receivers really are. This will open up holes for Buga to take home the Heisman. Can't wait for the football season to start.

The Oracle has spoken
All dedicate fans are waiting for every tidbit of information from Miles. We could spend the rest of the off season in understanding the Oracle.
