No, but the large amount of air fresheners hanging from it were not doing it any favors.
Probably just due to time and sitting directly in the sun for long periods of time.

Happened to me once about a week after I got a new windshield. I think the used the wrong type of glue to install the mount. The glass actually melted where the glue was.
