Man, get sleep while you can. Wife went through labor all night and started pushing at 8 a.m. Wish I would have slept more that night, because I was up the entire next night to let the wife rest. And there's no time to sleep during the day, because people were in your room the entire time.

I ran home to shower and pick up clothes after the second night and woke up 4 hours later on the sofa. I had passed the eff out. I felt so bad leaving my wife at the hospital. I didn't even mean to fall asleep.

Depends on the baby, but be prepared for no sleep for a while. It's worth it though. I've got a 7 month old. Around 4 months, he went from a terror to deal with at night to sleeping pretty much all night. It's easy after that. We did shift work for the first 4 months though and rarely slept in the same bed.
