Why are the Chinese students so oblivious to everything on campus?

Not meant as a racist thread but a legitimate question.
I notice that many of the Chinese international students on LSU's campus are oblivious to the world around them. Often times I've observed them slowly riding a bike down the middle of the road, walking over that bridge on West Lakeshore as buses and cars are forced to wait as they leisurely stroll across, and having no sense of etiquette by unknowingly disrupting classes in some form. Why is it that I seem to notice them doing it more than any other group on campus?

if they are really students studying abroad here in the states, well there lies your answer. different culture and they are in a completely foreign world to them.

And they'll walk into an elevator before you get out.
or walk up the stairs the wrong way and not move.

With the one child thing, they are raised having absolutely everything done for them. They don't know how to use common sense and think for themselves in a lot of situations. I worked with a Chinese girl who would leave the work kitchen a disaster area after lunch. We all thought it was the rudest thing ever. An older Chinese woman then explained that the girl has never had to clean up for herself so she had to basically teach her. I then wondered what her apartment looked like.

Probably because their sole focus is on their education.

Chinese people in general have terrible manners. Can't go from 3rd world to civilized in such a short period of time.
Japanese people on the other hand are the most polite group of people I've ever met.

Same thing at Mississippi College in Clinton. They damn near get run over all the time cuz they are oblivious to all around them.

Maybe their eyes are different?

The Chinese are notorious for not moving out of the way of large vehicles

It's all culture man. They just come from different backgrounds and don't know any better. I'm sure I would frick up a few times if I was in their country.

Maybe they're too busy studying and trying to learn something.
