I understand that maybe he's doing it to portray the violent nature (or in the case of this small spin up lack thereof) to those at home who don't really know much about tornados. But for someone who is supposedly an expert in their field, I think tossing around EF ratings is unfortunate.

Nah, what he's doing is irresponsible and ridiculous, you're definitely not the only one who is blasting him for it.
and i cringe everytime he refers to the radar as "the dopp"
