There was a time when anything short of a nice run in Omaha meant LSU had a bad season. He has done well during the regular season, but outside of 2009....with the talent LSU has had annually, I'd have to say overall they have underachieved.

I agree. But I'm not merely looking at talent. Consider the overall investment. Elite basketball teams make the sweet 16 more often than not and some years go further. The same should be true of any sports investment. The baseball team should be winning games in Omaha more often than not. Heck, mainieri can't even get there much less win games much less make it to the finals. And he's only had to go on the road once since then. His postseason resume is starting to look like bianco's.

Having said that, he did get ripped off in 2010. He would have had to travel but, you never know what could happen after that.
