I'm going to get appraised tomorrow. Just got it today. Don't where watches. I'm going to sell. Means nothing to me. Dial says
Rolex
Oyster Perpetual
DATEJUST
Then underneath the dual is says
Superlative Chronometer
Officially Certified.
It seems like it's gold and stainless / silver? Looks like it may have crystals or diamonds on numbers. And a magnifier over Date.

You have to know the serial number, what it's made of, general condition, how much stretch is in the bracelet, etc. Unless it got stomped on it's worth over $1,000. If it's stainless and Gold with diamonds on the face and in good condition it's probably worth around $5000 and up.
Ok, I saw the pics and I'm guessing 2500-3500. Looks like there's a good deal of stretch in that bracelet.

If this is the case. Does the second hand on the watch spin or tick? Since you arent a watch guy, i guess it is possible you dont know this.
In the pics you sent it looks real, but some fakes are good. Really good. My dad had a high end one from China years ago that ticked. Thing stopped working and he took it to a Rolex dealer to get looked at. Figured it was worth a shot. They opened it up, and after a few minutes said it was identical internally to a Rolex, with cheaper materials. Externally it was a perfect replica, just with cheap materials as well. Wouldnt fix it though, said they would get fired for working on a knock off. They went ahead and opened it because they, like us, were curious.

Wait, so you got gifted a Rolex (hell, any nice watch for that matter) from your father in law, and you're going to just sell it?
You are the epitome of a piece of shite.

Dude, you are a real piece of crap... do you really need money that bad? This is an inherited gift from your father-in law.
I'm sure that he didn't give you his watch for you to immediately sell it.
Just a wild speculation... how do you know this gesture is not a test? If you sell the watch that shows a complete lack of respect for your father-in-law's properties... a good way to get written out of the will...

Does it make any sound when the second hand is moving? Does the second hand sweep when it moves or does it "tick" to each second? These can be a clue as to whether it is real or not but serial number is necessary too.

That's what my wife has. Crystals on numbers LOL. Yeah, they're diamonds.
