The reason I ask is that this is an unprecedented situation. Let's say he is totally exonerated then he will be highly desired by every team in the league bc this is his only red flag.

La'el might not be in as bad a spot as we think. then again maybe his advisors are idiots. Obviously how it plays out the next few weeks will let us know.

I think a UDFA who opts out early becomes a ERFA, which is even more restrictive to the player than an RFA designation.

Albeit a huge one. Depends on how soon the case is wrapped up. He may not be in the clear until they find someone else they can definitely tag as the killer.
