I think they will find the arresting officers pinned Gray down with a knee to the neck and then Gray got a "rough ride" while handcuffed in the back of the van.

When you say a rough ride, i assume that entails driving erratically to throw the occupant around in the back and maybe some really hard breaking as well. This occurred in the early morning correct? I would think typical stop and go, heavy early morning city traffic would make that pretty difficult to pull off without drawing major attention to the vehicle from other drivers and potential witnesses.

Damn. Why couldn't this story have broken a week ago? Thousands of thug looters, I mean protestors, wouldn't have had to burn down their city.

They don't care about the outcome. It wouldn't have mattered if they announced the charges from day one. This was an excuse they needed to steal shite and act like thugs. It was simply a means to an end for them.

There was also an additional witness in the van - another prisoner who said the ride was uneventful. Of course, he's recanting now after being threatened by the mob.

Still have to go to trial, will they have evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Wait until the riots if they get off or lesser sentences.

This right here.

They better have their ducks in a row. The riots after they are acquitted will make these look like childs play.

I guess this answers my question regarding the ethnicity of the arresting officers. They are about to be made an example of

Most of them were white, or at least it looks that way in the arrest video.

Thanks. I remember seeing white officers for sure, but thought I remembered seeing black officers as well in the background

I could've sworn I heard the guy driving the van was black. Remember his sister spoke out in that interview.

If so, he is the one charged with murder

He was only in there for a short stretch at the end of the ride. He was picked up at the fourth stop (below), and there is security footage showing multiple officers standing and looking into Gray's side of the van, who was apparently already in severe distress.

IIRC the guy was holding a gun to his head and threatening to shoot himself, the cop actually saved his life and he wasn't really hurt. I think he had shot, or at least fired at, some people before that.

Well justice has been served, their rallying cries have been answered and they can all return back to their jobs now that the policeman responsible has been charged. Does that still apply since we know he's black?

Officer Caeser B. Goodson, Jr. was charged with second-degree depraved heart murder, involuntary manslaughter, second-degree assault, two counts of manslaughter by vehicle and misconduct in office.

Im not understanding these charges. How many people did this guy kill? If all these manslaughter charges and depraved heart murder are for one guy it seems like they would just go with the one that fit best and had the stiffest penalty.

And if depraved heart murder meant malicious intent murder then how can it be manslaughter?

quote:

Lt. Brian W. Rice was charged with involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of misconduct in office and false imprisonment

Again, manslaughter is ok but taking on the second degree assault seems like it would be double dipping. And with two counts does that mean he committed 2nd degree assault twice on the guy?

Really sounds like they put every charge that could possibly apply on these guys hoping at least one will fit.
