With the construction a driver is too concerned with trying to figure out where the driveway is to notice what was a turning lane for many years is now oncoming traffic. After I did it I noticed 3 other cars do the same.
So you admit that you and others are bad drivers? I noticed right off the bat that there was no center lane.

If not noticing that a lane that used to be there for as long as I can recall just disappeared makes me a bad driver then I must be a bad driver. Although have not been in a wreck in 29 years of having my license and only 2 speeding tickets.
What a driver sees coming from the South is 2 lanes to the left and 2 lanes to the right which is pretty normal. But its easy to forget that Essen was 3 lanes to the left not 2. They took away the turn lane to allow for the 3rd lane while doing construction far away from the driver.

Exactly. You should always look to see what the current lanes and signage are and not assume. This is especially true in a clearly marked construction zone such as Essen.
