All technology is gone, basic survival skills were lost decades ago. What happens? Does society rebuild over the millenia or does society advance at all?

I would be Phil from "The Last Man on Earth"

Maybe we don't die. I die.

It would depend on who the lucky 1% were.

Technology definitely doesn't advance. We would spend decades just trying to get back to where we are now.
As far as society.. It would either turn into a very united and together society or it would be a very violent one.

Aliens are watching us. They'll inhabit the land and life will continue.

Armageddon is on right now. You watching it ?

Dude, they mean the 1% surviving will be bacteria, small bugs, etc. Not humans

Fwiw, that's still 70MM people. Assuming that the survivors are in a semi-central location (because of impact) I like the chances of rebuilding. If the 70MM are spread out and basically the last to die due to a global ice age or something and the point in time when your scenario begins is when things get back to normal, it would be a lot tougher.

Finally there would be time to read.

Doesn't that kind of depend on the 1% of life that is left? What says it is humans?

Repopulation would have to be a priority, so the women we save in the bunkers would have to be of a highly-stimulating nature.

Yeah, until you break your glasses

People could eventually come back. It would suck to be those people though. There's probably too many factors to say for sure. The loss of survival skills probably isn't a huge factor though. People would likely relearn those.
