What is the markup on Rolex watches? Are they negotiable?

If you have to ask this you can't afford one.

If you have to ask...

And anyway, Tag watches are the better bet.

Listen, Rolex makes some great watches. My daily driver is a stainless I inherited. But certain models on certain people scream new money/pretentious/watch-ignorant.

If you have money, do some research. Look at Omegas, look around at models you like and dislike. If that ends up being a Rolex, cool.

Worked in the business for years. Markup is around 215% depending on the model. If you get one be ready to pay for the suggested annual maintenance. If you choose not to do it yearly they loose time. As far as negotiations it depends on the dealer and model.

I realize that there's a big push to increase the minimum wage, but you should come back when you're making real money and we can suggest some decent watches for you. Rolex?

Prices in retail outlets are controlled by Rolex. Anyone dropping price loses distributorship.

Best bet at a reducced price one is eBay, etc

You will not be able to get a deal on a Rolex watch from an official retailer. They may throw in a watch winder, but they won't budge on price. Reason being is that Rolex will cut off any retailer who does this, as it cheapens the product. I am not saying that no-one cuts their price, but only the well established stores are Rolex dealers, and there is no need to take that risk.

I have a family Rolex and admire is. Problem is is that it does not match my personality. I went looking at purchsing one, and then saw the omega. I really like their watches. Still don't have one though...not there financially just yet.

Folks who wouldn't be happy with an Explorer II either don't understand what watches are for or have little meaning in their lives besides money.
