Right! Craziest shite I ever heard. Hospice!?! frick you! That's what I wanted to say to him. 1000.00 for "hospice care". No thank you. Run some blood tests and do an X-ray. Then give him something that will assure he's comfortable over night and I'll bring him home. Currently waiting on results of blood work and X-rays now. Will update when I find out what the results are. I can assure you that "dog hospice" is not an option.

I recently had a conversation about this with my vet. He said that pick three characteristics that define your dogs personality, such as eating, playful, fetching, etc. once the dog loses two of the three characteristics then it is time to put the dog down.

Good Luck

If the vet hasn't checked for Canine parvovirus, then you need to go somewhere else now. The symptoms you described are identical to those of my own dog no more than six months ago and that's what it was. Dog ended up dead anyway after a lengthy stay at the vet. That's a story for another thread.
