nya is two syllables, so five altogether.


The -ia at the end of a word in Spanish is pronounced with one syllable as "nya." Arnold's way of breaking apart the last syllable into "ee-uh" is incorrect.

At least it isn't as bad as all the different ways people butcher the word "chipotle."
