I saw a story the other day about how this guy, an ecologist killed over 100,000 goats on the Galapagos by shooting them from Helicopters.

They have already started killing cats, but would not talk about how, besides trapping.

quote:

On the Galapagos Islands, the fabled archipelago where Darwin saw his finches, a drastic policy has been in place for decades — kill every goat.

“It can be hard to see so many goats lying dead out there,” says Dr. Linda Cayot, science advisor for the Galapagos Conservancy. “But those goats were destroying the habitat of the tortoises. In my heart and mind are the tortoises.”

Even PETA and most far left groups even support what is going on in the Galapagos. Left uncheked any feral domesticated animals become a nusance.
Though I don't think we should shoot cats and dogs, especially in urban areas.

In the country, my grandparents had one dog get shot twice, one lose a leg in a trap, and one cat get killed by a shotgun(found at the creek were some people dumped).
Sucked, but they were all on other people's property when it happened.

(dogs both lived, one other cat was killed by a big arse hawk, and another by a coyote)

Feral rabbits and goats do tremendous damage in Australia.

And Man picks the winners and losers again based on what they value most. frick survival of the fittest, PETA has picked their favorite.
