Sony used to be Minolta. My first SLR (film) camera was a Minolta - I loved it. I now have a Nikon DSLR, but honestly I am getting sick of dragging all the heavy lenses around with me when I shoot.

Back to Sony - they bought out Minolta's camera division a few years ago and have been cutting edge in producing very good cameras since then. And good lenses. Even their kit lenses are good. Prices, too. I have no reason to think it would be different for a Sony A6000.

It is mirrorless. Some of the DSLR purists think this is a problem. Some film SLR purists used to think digital cameras were a problem. I was one of them. I was wrong.

Mirrorless. I think it is an interesting concept. Am very tempted to get one, just because. If I ever do, I'll get it from Amazon. Better prices. Go for it. A review.

Sony makes very good cameras packed with features. No doubt about it. I'm holding off on the mirror-less technology for a bit though. Mirror-less is lighter, and can make as good a quality image but isn't as versatile and doesn't have nearly the lens options, yet.
