it happens. Oil dipstick will almost always be yellow or black. Transmission almost always red

If the oil keeps disappearing and its blowing white smoke you should really check the coolant. Headgaskets may be shot and letting the oil mix with the coolant. If the coolant looks like chocolate milk, I'd say the engine is toast.
