Good points made. I just don't see the reason for the change. I think it's harder to relearn all of this information the longer you are out of school. Seems like it is cheapened a bit by letting people take it fresh out of college. But if you can pass, you can pass. I guess it's not a big deal.

Then what's the point of getting your 4 years experience if you aren't even using the information in your "experience". I guess that's the point I'm trying to make. You probably use 20% of the information you learned in your career. Then you have to re-teach yourself the material again for the PE. What's the point of the 4 years experience then?

ETA: I'm saying this as someone who hasn't taken the exam and do not plan to. I have my experience already and then some, but my current path doesn't require it in the least. If I were to feel I would lose my job, or have a completely different direction within my company, I'd study and take the next available.
