- A record 15.1% of all new marriages in the United States were between spouses of a different race or ethnicity from one another.
- Among all newlyweds, 9.4% of whites, 17.1% of blacks, 25.7% of Hispanics and 27.7% of Asians married someone whose race or ethnicity was different from their own.
- Rates of intermarriages among newlyweds in the U.S. have nearly tripled since 1980 (6.7%) increasing to 14.6% in 2008 and 15.1% in 2010.
- Among all newlyweds, intermarried pairings were primarily White-Hispanic (43.3%) as compared to White-Asian (14.4%), White-Black (11.9%), and Other Combinations (30.4%). Other combinations consists of pairings between different minority groups, multi-racial people, and American Indians.

These stats come the following study LINK
They are based on the number of divorced by the 10th year of marriage compared to White/White couples.
They simply found the numbers, but did not try to examine the cause of the divorce rates among the different pairings. That would require much more research into the numerous factors that are involved in marriages.

Are there other stats? Like how much certain people weighed could be a factor.

I'd like to point out the rather large difference between black man/white woman marriages and white man/ black woman marriages. Maybe some of our OT experts can throw some theories out.

You know what they say about minority jokes...
Once you've heard Juan, you've heard Jamaal.

So in the graphic above, there are 3 colors represented. Does yellow = Asian, Hispanic, or anything other than white or black?

My black father and white mother married in '83. They had me a year later. They got divorced not too soon after that. I feel that situation was different from many in some ways, but all too much the same in other ways. My dad was rather well off at the time. Six-figure salary, flew planes as a hobby. He just couldn't stick around for long. Got bored easy. He got with two other white women later in life, and both of those relationships fizzled. I'm not sure what any of this means, but I hope to do better than old sport when I get married next month.
