If you really know that it is just a connector/receptacle issue, then it could be a simple repair. However, if it's really a issue with the motherboard then it's time for a new laptop. The decision largely depends on your laptop requirements. If all you need is a cheap laptop, then buy another cheap laptop. But if you need for instance a gaming laptop, then that makes the call more expensive and difficult.

That usually involves disassembling the shell, removing the motherboard, and resoldering a new plug. I wouldn't call it an easy repair even for me.
