1999 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. 271,000 miles and still going strong on original motor and trans. Only issues I've had are a minor head gasket leak, water pump, and typical minor oil leaks. I ONLY use Mobil 1 and Lucas oil stabilizer. I would highly recommend that combination to anyone who wants to get the most of out their truck. I easily see getting 300,000+ as a daily driver. It can be done.

Is synthetic oil better for an older, high mileage engine? And what about "high mileage" oil? Why is it better, or is it really "better"?
