This was talked about all year, but honestly watching duke last night exposed the fact that you do not need to go 10 deep. Dukes may only go 7 deep, but besides towns, the duke freshman are much better than Kentuckys. Their are only 200 minutes to go around in the game, and I'd sure as hell prefer tyus jones, okafor or Winslow playing a majority of those minutes instead of rotating guys like the Harrison's, trey lyles, ulis and booker in and out. Kentucky went 10 deep because(minus towns) nobody is great, they just have a bunch of good, solid interchangeable guys. Duke doesn't need to go 10 deep because their top 7 guys can score.

Tl:dr- duke won because although a shorter rotation than Kentucky, featured more reliable scorers.

Easy to say stuff like this now. Where was this thread about a month ago?

I can see them using 10 players into the tourney, then it's time to shorten rotations

Well, you only need to go five deep if your five play better than their five.

But it doesn't leave you as much margin for error.

I mean, I'd still take Kentuckys team over anyone else's from this year. Just because they finally lost to Wisconsin in their 39th game doesn't mean Duke exposed Kentuckys team or anything.

Duke dismissed one of our best players mid-way through the season and got better. You don't see that often. Will miss Suliamon next year badly though.

If UK could have gotten past Wisconsin they would have beat Duke handily IMO. People said all year Wisconsin and ND would be Kentucky's hardest games.

Kentucky was still the best team in the country.

1) Kentucky
2) Duke
3) Wisconsin
4) Arizona

And I think Arizona would split with Wisconsin if they played 10 times. Wisconsin's shooting was ridiculous in that game.
