Who was the famous local photographer? If that was 1924 Fonville was a bit young at the time and I don't recall any other photographers.

His name is Jasper Ewing. He did a lot of work in Louisiana and even had a studio in New Orleans. He later opened a studio in Jackson, MS, where it is still open today, run by his grandson.
LSU wanted a copy a couple years ago and I was going to donate a hard copy to the museum, but they told me they wanted an electronic copy because they said they didn't know what size they wanted to print it. I wouldn't do it because next thing I would know, LSU is printing them to give to every swinging dick.
