In Jordan's 37.1 PPG year, he also averaged 5.2 RPG and 4.6 APG. His USG% was 38.3. The same as Russell Westbrook.
MJ averaged 13.4/27.8 FG and 10.2/11.9 FT, both career highs.
He also shot 48.2% and 85.7%.
To put that into perspective, Jordan would have needed 12.9 more PPG to hit 50.
For every 2.34 FGA he had, he also attempted 1 FT. To get 12.9 more points, he would have needed 9.7 more FGA a game and 4.15 more FTA game. All of that to hit 50 points. To put in how absurd it sounds, Jordan's FGA/FTA would have went from:
27.8 FGA -> 37.5 FGA
11.9 FTA -> 16.1 FTA
Just to get 50 points at the same FG%/FT%.
