Of course it's possible, but Mainieri has a history of not pulling a pitcher until the damage is done. He also has a history of pulling a pitcher who is cruising for no other reason than his matchups fetish.

The seventh inning of a 2 run ball game is not the time to let your starter pitch out of a jam. Especially Poche who is known to struggle after about 80 pitches. You need someone warming or at least stretching down in the pen. If someone gets on base you pull him. If not, he finishes the inning.

He also has a history of making the right decisions on pitchers.
