Vaccaro Says The Saints Defense Has Implemented "Operation: Feed Drew"

The New Orleans Saints defense knows that they have to get teams off the field to give the ball back to QB Drew Brees. The team knows that the more opportunities that Brees has, their chance at winning goes up tremendously. So the Saints defense has made it a priority to getting more turnovers and create better field position for their offense. According to DB Kenny Vaccaro, the Saints defense has implemented “Operation: Feed Drew”
quote:
And the obvious benefits of creating takeaways that set up the Saints’ offense in enemy territory were cause enough for safety Kenny Vaccaro and his teammates to intensify their focus on what he dubbed “Operation: Feed Drew.”
quote:
“We have to keep taking those,” Vaccaro said Wednesday. “The more chances he gets to score the ball, the better chance we have at winning.”
quote:
Nonetheless, a second-year player with two interceptions, Vaccaro called it his goal to give the ball back to Brees more often and in much better positions than the quarterback has been getting it. “Every time I get a pick, I might run and give it to Drew (myself) from now on,” Vaccaro said.

I hope this is exactly what we are able to do this year. If we get a couple pieces to add to the front 7 and get more pressure on the opposing QB this is exactly what will happen. With Lewis, Browner, Vaccaro & Byrd we will start the year with the greatest secondary we have ever had. If they can work together we may have something really special this year like the black and gold has never seen before. Better than the 09 ball hawking D, and we wont even have to rape anyone to get it.

that would be pretty fun, every turnover, they run and give to drew and drew can do the 10 count huddle and everyone go raw raw raw. raw emotion and intensity is needed this year. Talent no longer cuts it in the NFL, the team must have the drive to go along with it.

I thought this was gonna be a crack at drews salary trying to somehow feed his Brady bunch sized family on 27 mil.

I talked to strief the other day, he said its their goal to get Ingram 1300 yards this year.

This still cracks me up every time.

Great! Another cool, catchy new name for our defense, just like last year before their epic failure. Yeah, that's the ticket

So he was in New Hampshire or where ever it is you live?

The post game locker room photos from that game are unbelievable. A few memes have come from it

I would be happy if Vaccaro isn't the worst rated PFF safety in the league again.

we didn't talk in real life but it seems like something reasonable he would say.

They didn't name their defense. They just created a goal and named it.

I can see how Strief is a pretty reasonable guy. He would be satisfied with 1,000 yards for Ingram but why not try and push the bar higher? Strief is thoughtful like that. Yay Strief!!

On average, if he didn't miss 3 games, he may have had 1200 yards. 1300 isn't unreasonable if he can stay healthy for 16 games.

Yep, if Ingram and Spiller are Healthy... i'm thinking we can see them both add up to like 3000 yards total from scrimmage.

Sounds like every offseason from 2010 on.

That's what he told me too.
He said we will pound the rock, with Brees used mainly as a second option.

Stupid Kenny, how you going to feed Drew if he's on the Browns?
Posted on 3/30/15 at 10:49 am to Chad504boy
I like it. Top 5 in rushing is a good goal too.
