That's one of the places I was thinking... Depending on current water levels there's anywhere from a 2 - 5ft drop there.

That's exactly where it happened. The drop is only about 1 foot right now and that's when it's the most dangerous. During normal water levels it's about 4 feet drop but the water is only about hip deep.
